Meryl P. Sherwood
Meryl Sherwood is counsel to European businesses, banks and individual investors in connection with their US real estate and financing transactions. She regularly represents clients in the luxury fashion industry in the drafting and negotiation of their retail leases. In addition, she represents firm clients in the purchase and sale of commercial and residential properties as well as in the negotiation of their office leases.
Ms. Sherwood frequently advises New York branches of foreign banks, as well as domestic banking corporations in a wide range of financing transactions, including short-term loans, revolving credit facilities and a variety of secured and unsecured lending transactions and real estate financings.
Ms. Sherwood is on the Executive Committee of the International Section of the New York State Bar Association where she is Chair of the Cross Border Real Estate Practice Committee and Co-Chair of the Women’s Interest Networking Group. She is also Vice-Chair of the Cross Border Real Estate Transactions Committee of the International Section of the American Bar Association.
Ms. Sherwood is a graduate of Douglass College of Rutgers University (B.A. 1973), Rutgers University Graduate School (M.L.S. 1974) and New York Law School (J.D. 1981).
Ms. Sherwood is fluent in French.
Ms. Sherwood is admitted to the New York Bar.
